Who runs Homework Hero

Homework Hero is an independent project built and maintained by a student. It is not operated by a company, school, or school district, and it is not an official school record system.

Age requirement

Homework Hero is intended only for people who are at least 13 years old. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If Homework Hero learns that an account belongs to someone under 13, the account and associated data will be deleted.

Data Homework Hero handles

• Account information provided through Clerk, such as your name, email address, profile image, account identifier, and sign-in information.
• Assignments, subjects, notes, due dates, priorities, progress, boards, projects, invitations, and project membership.
• Reminder settings, time zone, notification preferences, and technical push-subscription details for devices you enable.
• Limited local PWA data stored on your device so installed Homework Hero pages can show a read-only offline snapshot.
• Standard security and operational information, such as request timestamps, IP addresses, browser details, and error logs generated by service providers.

How data is used and shared

Data is used to provide sign-in, task and project features, offline access, reminders, security, troubleshooting, and support. Clerk processes authentication, and Cloudflare hosts the application, database, queues, and related infrastructure. Data is shared with these providers only as needed to operate Homework Hero. Homework Hero does not sell user data or use it for personalized advertising.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Your active data is kept while your account needs it. You can delete individual assignments and projects at any time. To delete your complete account, choose Manage Account from the account menu and use the account controls there. This removes your Homework Hero data, sign-in account, reminder preferences, and registered notification devices. Shared tasks in projects you do not own may remain for the other project members, but your membership and assignment are removed and the task is no longer connected to your account.

Infrastructure providers may temporarily retain backups or security logs under their own retention processes after active Homework Hero data is deleted. Installed PWA data is cleared during in-app account deletion; removing a browser or device without using that action may leave local data until the browser clears it.

Security and school information

Homework Hero uses HTTPS, authenticated access controls, and signed account-deletion events. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Do not enter grades, student ID numbers, medical information, disciplinary records, or other sensitive school records into task notes or projects.

Your choices and contact

You can edit or delete your content, disable reminders, remove notification devices, clear offline data, or delete your account from Homework Hero. For privacy questions or help with a deletion request, email support@ryanserver.dev.
